About The Position
This is a float pool position throughout the scope of practice for an ICU level RN. The role requires the nurse to be willing to float to MedSurg/Tele units. The position requires a BSN and at least 1.5 years of general nursing experience. The nurse must hold a South Dakota or compact RN License, along with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
Requirements
- BSN required
- 1.5 years general nursing experience
- ICU level RN experience
- Willing to float to MedSurg/Tele
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- NIHSS certification
- South Dakota or compact RN License
- Experience with titration drips: Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levo, Dopamine, Insulin
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- IV starts
- Blood product administration
- CIWA experience
- Drain/tube management
- Indwelling and straight catheter insertion/management
- Continuous bladder irrigation
- Chest tube maintenance
- Experience with Cardiac procedural recovery (CABG/TAVR/post Cardiac Cath)
- MI pharmacology experience
- Heparin gtts experience
Responsibilities
- Float to MedSurg/Tele units as needed.
- Perform titration of drips: Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levo, Dopamine, Insulin.
- Interpret cardiac rhythms.
- Perform IV starts.
- Administer blood products.
- Manage CIWA protocols.
- Manage drains/tubes.
- Perform indwelling and straight catheter insertion/management.
- Manage continuous bladder irrigation.
- Perform chest tube maintenance.
- Provide care for patients recovering from Cardiac procedures (CABG/TAVR/post Cardiac Cath).
- Administer MI pharmacology.
- Manage Heparin gtts.
