About The Position
The Intensive Care Unit at Thompson Hospital is a modern, patient-focused environment committed to delivering exceptional critical care to our community. Our 12-bed ICU features private patient rooms thoughtfully designed with ample space for advanced monitoring technology, allowing nurses to practice at the highest level while still supporting meaningful bedside time with patients’ friends and loved ones. This setting promotes high-quality, compassionate care and a strong professional practice environment for our nursing team.
Requirements
- NYS licensed registered nurse required
- Current CPR/BLS required
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing
- BSN required or commitment to complete within 5 years of appointment
- Evidence of cardiac arrhythmia course or critical care course or within one year of employment
- Minimum of one (1) year of medical/surgical experience required
- Able to prioritize and plan for the unexpected
- Able to delegate tasks appropriately
Nice To Haves
- ACLS within one year
- CCRN preferred
- Cardiac monitoring preferred
- Critical care preferred
Responsibilities
- Utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Prescribing, delegating and coordinating nursing care provided to patients.
- Provide patient education & coordinate the activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining the standards of professional nursing practice.
