About The Position

UW Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for ICU Nurse Residency/Transition to Practice. This ICU Residency/Transition to Practice will be with Montlake’s four ICU Departments and will commence February 8, 2027. You must have an Active WA RN license, or valid Multistate RN license no later than January 25, 2027 to be eligible. Job posting closes on October 15, 2026. This position offers a great opportunity for both new and experienced RNs to learn a new, challenging area of nursing at a state-of-the-art facility.

Requirements

Active WA RN license, or valid Multistate RN license no later than January 25, 2027.
At least two years of registered nursing experience in an acute care environment.
If nursing resident or new graduate registered nurse, must have ICU Senior Practicum experience, ICU Clinicals, or have worked in an ICU Department in another health care provider role (e.g., Nursing Technician, PCT, MA, Health Unit Coordinator).
BLS and ACLS within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

Provide direct recovery for ICU surgical cases and liver transplants (Surgical ICU).
Care for medical ICU cases and Bone Marrow Transplant patients (Medical ICU).
Care for cardiac and thoracic surgery patients, vascular, heart and lung transplant, MCS, VV, ECLS, and TAVR patients (Cardiothoracic ICU).
Care for patients with acute heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, pre heart transplant patients, and post-cardiac cath lab procedures (CCU ICU).
