About The Position

The Registered Nurse I provides emergency department nursing care at the Emergency Center – South Campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care using the nursing process and following hospital standards and unit policies and procedures to monitor and evaluate patients’ functional status. This is a full-time day-shift position with a stated shift of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Experience as an emergency department RN is preferred; this is not a new-graduate position.

Requirements

• Complete the basic professional curriculum of a school of nursing approved and verified by a state board of nursing, and hold or be entitled to hold a diploma or degree from that school.
• Hold a valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
• Have 0–6 months of related work experience.
• Have working knowledge of general disease-state management processes, the biopsychosocial model, and clinical pathways.
• Have effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Be able to organize and prioritize work effectively and efficiently.
• Be detail-oriented when examining clinical and numerical data.
• Experience as an emergency department RN is preferred; this is not a new-graduate position.

Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Assess, organize, and complete patient care while considering patients’ age, cultural background, and psychosocial factors.
• Document the steps of the nursing process and use proper medical terminology.
• Address patient problems and monitor progress toward goals.
• Support patient discharge with timely, appropriate referrals and patient education resources suited to the patient’s age and cultural and psychosocial factors.
• Collaborate with other disciplines as appropriate.
• Support unit and hospital goals through performance-improvement and educational activities, including attending in-services, meeting unit education standards, and completing variance reports.
