All students in Frederick County Public Schools are provided with health services in the school setting. It is through this joint effort between Frederick County Public Schools and Frederick County Health Department that the School Health Services provides the link between health and education. This link is the key to the success of every student in Frederick County. We are seeking positive and professional staff with a passion for caring for children to join our diverse School Health Services team. Non-exempt (compensatory and/or overtime eligible); full-time during school year (10-month position); 35 hours per week; (Monday – Friday, varied hours based on work location); full benefits; This role requires travel between assigned schools and programs, with occasional assignments at other schools or for special health-related initiatives. 13 Vacancies This position delivers professional nursing services to designated Frederick County public schools, ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of students. Responsibilities may include supervising and evaluating Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Health Room Technicians (CNA/CMTs), coordinating school health programs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and acting as a liaison between schools, families, and healthcare providers. Additional duties involve maintaining health documentation, managing communicable disease prevention efforts, overseeing emergency care protocols, and providing direct health room coverage. The incumbent will float to other schools to cover staff absences if needed. Oversight is received from a School Health Manager. Newly hired employees will attend a 6-week orientation and training at the Frederick County Health Department. NOTE: The upper pay range reflects possible wage rates for internal County transfers and promotions, which are calculated per County policy. For external hires, offers are made at the base wage rate - exception may be made for applicants who possess secondary language skills in Spanish.
