About The Position

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse I (New Graduate) provides individualized, goal-directed nursing care to patients and families at the advanced beginner level, using the principles and practices of the nursing process. The nurse works with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes. The position is with the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA), in the Heart & Vascular 4E Cardiothoracic Stepdown Unit, and is scheduled for 36 hours per week across three 12-hour rotating shifts, including some weekends.

Requirements

• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or a recognized equivalent, or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
• Ability to perform the physical, sensory, and functional demands described for the position, including standing, walking, lifting, and working rotating shifts.
• Ability to work overtime as required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred, unless the applicant is a current MUSC employee.
