About The Position

The Registered Nurse I assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating patient functional status. This role involves independent judgment in making decisions from many diversified alternatives that are subject to general review in final stages only. The nurse will coordinate and lead others in the same work performed (without direct supervision) and will have input on performance evaluations. The role requires working directly with patients and internal/external customers via telephone or face-to-face interaction, as well as with other healthcare professionals and staff, frequently interacting with individuals at the Director level or above. This position is considered safety sensitive under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Use and Patient Protection Act.

Requirements

• Has completed the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing, and holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or degree therefrom.
• Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License.
• 0 - 6 months related experience.
• Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways.
• Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
• Ability to be detail oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.
• Must be Team oriented and a quick learner.

Nice To Haves

• Circulating experience is strongly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating patient functional status.
• Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care with consideration for patient age, cultural and psychosocial factors.
• Documents steps of the nursing process.
• Utilizes proper medical terminology.
• Addresses problems and progress toward goals.
• Facilitates patient discharge through timely, appropriate referrals and utilization of patient education resources, suitable to patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors.
• Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate.
• Supports unit/hospital goals through PI and educational activities as evidenced by attending in-services, meeting unit education standards, and completing variance reports.
