About The Position

Saint Lawrence – Gouverneur Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse – House Supervisor. The position requires at least 1 year of experience, specifically House Supervisor or RN Manager experience. Travel experience is required. The House Supervisor will support hospital operations, bed management, emergency response, nursing supervision, patient transfers, admissions, and coordination of patient care across the facility.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience.
  • House Supervisor or RN Manager experience required.
  • Travel experience required.
  • Candidates must have experience supervising nursing care and managing hospital operations.
  • EPIC experience required.
  • Candidates with a strong House Supervisor/RN Manager background are expected to have experience with bed management, admissions, transfers, emergency response, and facility-wide nursing coordination.
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • PALS
  • New York RN License required and must be in hand at the time of submission.
  • Candidates with more than 10 days of RTO cannot be submitted.
  • Candidates must be comfortable floating.
  • EPIC experience is a hard requirement.
  • New York State RN license must be in hand for submission.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with a strong House Supervisor/RN Manager background are expected to have experience with bed management, admissions, transfers, emergency response, and facility-wide nursing coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Provide House Supervisor coverage and nursing leadership.
  • Supervise nursing care delivered throughout the facility.
  • Manage hospital beds and patient placement.
  • Coordinate new admissions.
  • Support post-surgical and post-procedure patient care.
  • Coordinate transfers to a higher level of care.
  • Manage facility bed/diversion activities.
  • Respond to emergency situations and support the Rapid Response Team.
  • Participate in crisis intervention and management.
  • Monitor and report sentinel events.
  • Address legal and regulatory aspects of patient care.
  • Support discharge processes, including patients leaving Against Medical Advice (AMA).
  • Coordinate patient care involving multiple departments and services.
  • Support infection control and isolation procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including DPH, The Joint Commission (TJC), and OSHA requirements.
  • Promote workplace safety.
  • Provide customer service to patients, families, and staff.
  • Support facility operations and nursing management activities.
