Registered Nurse (RN) - Hospice - Weekend/On-Call
About The Position
Absolute Hospice, Inc., a family-owned agency, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time, on-call position covering Friday 4:00 PM to Sunday 8:00 AM in the Stark and Summit County areas. This role involves providing quality and passionate care to patients in their homes or residences. The Hospice RN will establish professional and caring relationships with patients, families, support staff, physicians, discharge planners, social workers, facilities, and other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include hands-on care, ongoing clinical management, and education regarding hospice care. The RN will also educate patients and caregivers on their conditions and necessary recovery steps. This is a salary position.
Requirements
- Caring, patient, and flexible teacher with excellent communication and time management abilities
- Independent problem-solving abilities
- Excellent clinical assessment skills
- Ability to lift/transfer patients to and from wheelchairs, if necessary
- Associate of Science degree in Nursing
- Valid Ohio RN license
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Valid driver's license and one-year clean driving record
- Excellent writing, communication, and charting skills
Nice To Haves
- Hospice or home health experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Making initial nursing evaluation visit
- Continually evaluating the patient's needs
- Initiating, coordinating, and revising the treatment plan
- Rendering nursing care and performing treatments, as ordered by the physician
- Participating in the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement process
- Preparing accurate, orderly, and timely reports and documentation
- Adhering to all practice standards as they apply to patient care
- Educating patients and their caregivers on their conditions and the steps needed to ensure proper recovery
