Registered Nurse (RN) - Hospice - Weekend/On-Call
About The Position
Absolute Hospice, Inc., a family-owned agency, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time, on-call position covering Friday through Sunday in the Stark and Summit County areas. This role focuses on providing quality and passionate hospice care to patients in their homes or residences. The Hospice RN will build professional and caring relationships with patients, families, support staff, physicians, discharge planners, social workers, facilities, and other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include hands-on care, ongoing clinical management, and education regarding hospice care, as well as educating patients and caregivers on their conditions and recovery steps. This is a salary position.
Requirements
- Caring, patient, and flexible teacher with excellent communication and time management abilities
- Possess independent problem-solving abilities, excellent clinical assessment skills
- Ability to lift/transfer patients to and from wheelchairs, if necessary
- Associate of Science degree in Nursing
- Valid Ohio RN license
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Valid driver's license and one-year clean driving record
- Excellent writing, communication, and charting skills
Nice To Haves
- hospice or home health experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Making initial nursing evaluation visit
- Continually evaluating the patient's needs
- Initiating, coordinating, and revising the treatment plan
- Rendering nursing care and performing treatments, as ordered by the physician
- Participating in the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement process
- Preparing accurate, orderly, and timely reports and documentation
- Adhering to all practice standards as they apply to patient care
- Providing hands-on care
- Ongoing clinical management
- Education regarding hospice care
- Educating patients and their caregivers on their conditions and the steps needed to ensure proper recovery
