Registered Nurse - Home Care and Hospice
About The Position
Saint Luke's Home Care and Hospice is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join their team. This position involves taking overnight and weekend call and making hospice and home care visits in the Kansas City metropolitan area. The role is part of a Seven-On/Seven-Off alternative staffing plan, offering significant work-life balance and flexibility. The employee will be scheduled to work seven consecutive days, being on-call from 5:00 pm through 8:00 am Monday through Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday. Responsibilities include making hospice visits while on call during the week and home care and hospice visits on weekends. The nurse will then have the following seven days off, resulting in 26 weeks of time off per year, with the option to pick up extra visits during off weeks.
Requirements
- RN Compact or MO and KS required
- Valid driver's license required
- Family Care Safety Registry required
- Active Missouri and Kansas RN License
- Less than 1 year of applicable experience
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
- Registered Nurse - Various
- Associate Degree
Nice To Haves
- Prior hospice experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Taking home care and hospice call during night hours and weekends.
- Triaging calls and meeting the callers needs as appropriate.
- Performing hospice visits at night and on weekends.
- Performing start of care and routine home care visits on weekends.
- Performing appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures including wound and ostomy care on weekends.
- Educating the patient and family members on following the care plan and medication administration.
