About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for its High Risk Surgical Clinic (HiRiSE TVC) in Nashville, Tennessee. This role involves applying the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. The nurse will communicate patient information to the healthcare team, collaborate on patient goals, and evaluate progress. The position emphasizes professional growth and adherence to Board of Nursing standards. The HiRiSE clinic provides preoperative anesthetic evaluations, surgical risk stratification, and care plans for medically complex adult patients before elective surgery. The clinic operates in a collaborative environment that promotes teaching and learning, with a team including anesthesiologists, resident physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and support staff. The clinic utilizes various resources such as laboratory, imaging, social work, and specialty clinics to provide patient-centered care. Requirements

  • LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure-Others
  • Relevant Work Experience
  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
  • 1 year experience

Responsibilities

  • Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
  • Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
  • Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
  • Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
  • Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
  • Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
