Registered Nurse – Hematology/Oncology – Full Time Nights
About The Position
This is a full-time night position for a Registered Nurse in Hematology/Oncology at Texas Health Dallas. The role involves delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The nurse will also incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures and maintain continuity of patient care across shifts and transfers. Texas Health Dallas is a Magnet-designated, full-service hospital with a specialization in cancer care, cardiology, neurosciences, women's services, and emergency medicine. It is a Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Heart Attack Center, and a designated Magnet hospital.
Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program Or Diploma Nurse Program Completion
- One-year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
- RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually

Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
