About The Position

This is a Full Time Nights position for a Registered Nurse in the Hematology/Oncology Medical Surgical Department at Texas Health Dallas. The department has 30 beds and focuses on providing life-saving care to Oncology patients. The role involves working with a diverse patient population and a Multi-Disciplinary Team. Texas Health also pays for Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification.

Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program Or Diploma Nurse Program Completion
One-year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days

CRRN - Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse Upon Hire
CNRN - Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse Upon Hire
ONC - Orthopedic Nurse Certified Upon Hire

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
