About The Position

We are hiring a Registered Infusion Nurse (RN) for our Hematology/Oncology Clinic at our South Hospital location in Overland Park, KS. This is a full-time day shift position working Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The role involves serving as an Infusion RN in a busy hematology and oncology infusion center at the St. Luke's East campus. The nurse functions independently, is accountable for utilizing the nursing process, and coordinates patient care with the Multidisciplinary Team. Responsibilities include delegating tasks, identifying hospital resources, serving as a clinical resource for new employees, demonstrating leadership, scheduling emergent-need appointments, and providing patient education on procedures and processes. The RN will be a subject matter expert in their specialty for hospital RNs and will regularly meet with other disciplines to share best practices. This role involves face-to-face patient contact, with patient care typically for those undergoing long-term treatment processes. The work is generally performed within a specialty clinic setting. Occasional weekend and holiday coverage is required.

Requirements

  • 1 year of applicable experience
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate - Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation, Registered Nurse (MO) - National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NURSYS)
  • Associate Degree
  • Strong IV skills
  • Good time management
  • Ability to thrive in an ever changing environment in a busy infusion center
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification required but can be obtained after hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Oncology or infusion experience preferred
