This is an opportunity to use nursing skills and experience to educate caregivers on the physical health needs of their patients who live in the community and have a mental health diagnosis. The role involves teaching caregivers how to provide a better quality of life for patients. The position offers autonomy in nursing practice with less physical demand than hospital or skilled nursing facility work. The nurse will work in various community settings such as AFCs, private homes, ABA centers, day programs, and camps, as well as in the office outpatient clinic for injections and psychiatric clinic assistance. The role provides nursing services to adults and children with multiple physical health conditions, mental illness, substance use disorder(s), and/or developmental disabilities, adhering to professional nursing standards and codes. The position requires knowledge of and support for culturally competent recovery-based practices, person-centered planning, and a trauma-informed culture of safety.
