About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Graduate Nurse on an Acute Care Unit. The role requires a passion for providing bedside care to a diverse and acutely ill patient population. The RN must possess the knowledge and skill to safely apply the nursing process to assess, plan, and evaluate the care of patients with various health conditions. The Acute Care Unit is a 51-bed unit that provides care for high-acuity patients across a wide spectrum of complex specialties.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required.
Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association).
Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
Competency in electronic patient management systems.

Nice To Haves

BSN or MSN preferred.
At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting highly preferred.
Will take a graduate nurse and train.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
Ability to communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient.
Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.
Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team.
Educates patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.
