About The Position

Under the direction of the Manager of Nursing, the RN will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. It will be desirable if you possess a knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques involved in performing nursing services relating to the care of patients in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This knowledge is commonly obtained through previous experience in neonatal intensive care nursing or completion of a post graduate course in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Neonatal RN-SP Training certification
  • Basic - Critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge in leadership strategies
  • Knowledge in role of specific clinical area within health system
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge in process of policy and procedure development
  • Knowledge in communication techniques and approaches
  • Knowledge in conflict resolution techniques
  • Ability to be self motivated
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques involved in performing nursing services relating to the care of patients in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, commonly obtained through previous experience in neonatal intensive care nursing or completion of a post graduate course in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing.
