About The Position
The Registered Nurse Float provides direct nursing care in a diverse healthcare environment in accordance with the healthcare organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols. The role implements and monitors patient care plans, observes and communicates patient conditions, and coordinates care across disciplines. The nurse carries out physician and nursing orders and assesses and coordinates patient care needs with members of the healthcare team. The position is based at Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast in Destin, Florida, in the Float Team, and is scheduled for the night shift.
Requirements
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification accepted.
- Florida Registered Nurse licensure obtained before hire or job transfer. A current home-state license may be accepted under multistate license recognition for a Compact State.
- Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at the time of hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Coordinate across disciplines to support well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ care needs with members of the healthcare team.
