About The Position

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health is the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years, integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Wards 7 and 8. This integrated delivery system is a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it ensures that residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital includes 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transport. We are seeking an experienced Float Pool Registered Nurse (Full Time). Our ideal candidate plays a vital role in supporting the launch and ongoing success of Washington, DC’s newest full-service hospital. As part of a dynamic and mission-driven team, the Float Pool RN delivers high-quality, patient-centered care across multiple units based on real-time staffing needs. This role is essential in ensuring continuity of care and operational excellence by providing safe, evidence-based nursing practice in alignment with CHRMC’s commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and community impact. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and demonstrates strong clinical versatility, adaptability, and the ability to seamlessly integrate into diverse specialty areas.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the District of Columbia (or compact license eligible for DC licensure)
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience in Medical-Surgical
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in at least one critical care area, including ICU, Emergency Department (ED), or Pediatric Emergency Department (Peds ED)
  • Demonstrated ability to float between a minimum of two (2) units, including Medical-Surgical and one (1) critical care unit
  • Proven ability to quickly adapt to different unit workflows, teams, and varying patient acuity levels
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a patient-first mindset
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS and/or PALS required based on assigned units
