About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Float Pool at a short-term acute care setting in Geneva, NY. The assignment begins on 08/31/2026 and lasts for 26 weeks. The role involves providing bedside nursing care across multiple units, including med/surg, ICU, ER, and MST. The nurse will be responsible for patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, monitoring, documentation, and adapting to various unit needs while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care.

Requirements

Active New York State RN license
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS through AHA or RQI, required
Basic Coronary Care certification within 6 months of hire
CPI certification within 90 days of hire
Minimum 1 year of experience in Med-Surg, Telemetry, or Critical Care units
Must be cross-trained for multi-unit coverage (med/surg, ICU, ER, MST) and comfortable floating to ICU/ER/MS/MST

Responsibilities

Deliver bedside nursing care to patients across multiple units within the float pool, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
Administer medications, perform IV therapies, monitor vitals and hemodynamic status, and assist with procedures per established protocols.
Monitor patient status, identify changes, escalate concerns to the appropriate clinician, and respond promptly to emergencies.
Float across units as assigned; adapt to different routines, equipment, and workflows while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care.
Document accurately in the electronic medical record; maintain patient privacy and confidentiality; participate in shift handoffs and interdisciplinary communication.
