About The Position

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a civilian Registered Nurse - Family Health at Nellis Air Force Base, in Las Vegas Nevada. This contract position offers the opportunity to care for Active Duty, Retirees, and their families. The patient population is fully insured.

Requirements

Must be a US citizen, or lawful permanent resident, or alien authorized to work in the US.
Must hold a current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Must hold and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines.
Must have completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university (ACEN or CCNE accredited).
Two years of outpatient clinical nursing experience after graduation.

Nice To Haves

Strongly preferred working knowledge of the military health care system including TRICARE health benefits.
Working knowledge of the principles of fee-for-services, preferred provider network and managed care/HMO organizations is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Utilizes the nursing process as a basis for professional practice.
Performs nursing assignments of moderate difficulty.
Assesses adult and geriatric patients.
Applies knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders/conditions, diagnostic studies and treatments.
Applies knowledge of preventive health schedules, disease management and population health principles, and education methods.
Applies knowledge of pharmacological agents, desired effects, side effects, and complications.
Completes administrative requirements for proper documentation of patient’s condition including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care.
