About The Position

The Family Birthing Center at Presbyterian Santa Fe Medical Center is seeking an experienced Family Birthing/Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team. In this role you will be utilizing the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. You will be responsible for prioritizing the delivery of direct nursing care using time and resources efficiently, integrating a standards-based framework model.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
• BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire
• NRP

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and manage the physical and emotional well-being of patients during labor, delivery, and recovery.
• Perform and interpret fetal heart rate monitoring and other diagnostic tests to ensure maternal and fetal health.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals during deliveries, including assisting with cesarean sections or emergency procedures.
• Provide care and education to new mothers on breastfeeding, infant care, and postpartum recovery.
• Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, and epidurals while monitoring for any adverse reactions.
• Respond quickly to obstetric emergencies, including hemorrhage, fetal distress, or neonatal complications.
