About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Ascension Saint Joseph in Chicago, IL. The position is full-time, with an evening shift. The nurse will implement and monitor patient care plans, monitor and record patient condition, serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care during the 3:00pm-3:00am shift, and note and carry out physician and nursing orders, assessing and coordinating patient discharge planning needs.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.
One year emergency room RN experience or three years ICU RN experience.

Nice To Haves

Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate, providing accurate updates during mid-day and evening shift handoffs.
Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care during the 3:00pm-3:00am shift.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders, and assess and coordinate the patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
