About The Position

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse provides rapid, skilled care to patients seeking emergency medical attention. ER nurses deliver emergent and urgent care to patients in the emergency department, assessing patient needs and prioritizing treatment. This is a full-time, night-shift position at Dallas Medical Center in Farmers Branch, Texas, with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. A sign-on bonus of $20,000 is available to qualified candidates; eligibility and payout terms apply, and details are discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current certification.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current certification.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC within 30 days of hire and maintain current certification.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• At least one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting.

Nice To Haves

• Emergency room experience is preferred.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification is preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients upon arrival and determine the severity of their conditions.
• Follow standardized triage protocols to identify patients requiring immediate attention for life-threatening conditions.
• Provide direct care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions and injuries, including administering medications, performing procedures such as wound care or splinting, monitoring vital signs, and managing pain.
• Assist with stabilizing patients and initiating life-saving interventions in cases of severe illness or trauma, including ACLS, PALS, and trauma care.
• Manage high-stress, rapidly changing situations while caring for multiple patients, including during busy shifts or mass casualty events.
• Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions.
