RN, Registered Nurse ER: FT 3p-3a
About The Position
Firelands Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room, working the 3p-3a shift. This position offers a $5,000 retention bonus and a favorable nurse-to-patient ratio (1:3 day shift, 1:4 night shift). The role involves implementing the nursing process, performing assessments, monitoring patient care, documenting interventions, and instructing patients and families. The nurse will also respond to emergencies, maintain supplies, and ensure a clean environment, acting as an ambassador for Firelands Regional Medical Center (FRMC). The position is located in Sandusky, a "Best Coastal Small Town in America" along Lake Erie.
Requirements
- Current Ohio RN license and CPR prior to patient care experience.
- Current PALS, ACLS, Basic EKG, and TNCC required or obtained within 6 months of hire and remain current.
- Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency are a must.

- At least 1 year of experience.
Responsibilities
- Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
- Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
- Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
- Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
- Demonstrate service excellence and acts as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
