About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab. The position involves working within a team structure, including a late 1 team and a backup late 2 team, with responsibilities for completing the last case of the day and ensuring patient care. Travelers will be assigned additional shifts to cover scheduling gaps and may be expected to stay to ensure 40 hours of work if case loads are light. Overtime is not expected but possible. A key requirement is comfort in providing conscious sedation during procedures. Contract staff will be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur, with preassignment to units as needed. The unit performs various special procedures including Ablations (VT, PVI, CV, A-Flutter, AV Node), ICD/Pacer Placement and exchanges, Laser Lead Extraction, Lead extraction, and LAAO.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience.

  • Watchman experience.
  • Stocks supplies experience.
  • Arrhythmia Induction experience.
  • Cardiac Ablation experience.
  • Cardiac Mapping experience.
  • Circulate Procedures experience.
  • Conduction Studies experience.
  • Electrophysiology Evaluation experience.
  • Insertion/Programming of AICDs experience.
  • Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) Closure experience.
  • Pacemaker Insertion experience.
  • Accurate monitoring skills.
  • Equipment set up skills.
  • Perform EKG lead placement skills.
  • Prep access site skills.
  • Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias skills.
  • Room circulator skills.
  • Scrub - maintain sterile field skills.
  • Sterile Technique skills.
  • ACLS certification.
  • BLS certification.
  • Comfortable providing conscious sedation during procedures.
  • Must be available for interviews within the next 72 hours.

Responsibilities

  • Report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster if required.
  • May be preassigned to units as needed after consolidation to the Centralized Office.
