Registered Nurse- Endoscopy
About The Position
The Endoscopy Registered Nurse will support pre-procedure, intra-procedure (scrub & circulator), and post-procedure recovery patient care responsibilities. The IU Health North Endoscopy unit supports procedures with pediatric and adult patient populations in a fast-paced environment. We provide upper and lower GI procedures, endoscopy procedures, bronchoscopies, and mobility and pain management patient care services for pediatric and adult patients. PRN position. The Clinical Nurse reflects the mission, vision, and values of Indiana University Health, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of competent, evidence-based care along the care continuum, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinical nurse participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to advance the patient plan of care, achieve outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of RN experience
- Associates of Nursing (ASN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
- Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program
- Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
Nice To Haves
- Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
- Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
