Registered Nurse Endoscopy
About The Position
This role involves providing direct, hands-on nursing care in the Endoscopy department, covering pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure support, and PACU recovery. The nurse will maintain high safety standards and participate in an on-call rotation alongside standard daytime shift schedules. The position serves as a central clinical contact, coordinating with physicians, anesthesia teams, pathology, and support staff to execute treatment plans, manage diagnostic specimens, and ensure efficient procedural room operations. Continuous monitoring of patient conditions, real-time clinical updates using the SBAR framework, and assessment of post-sedation recovery are key responsibilities, including delivering clear discharge instructions and ensuring safe patient transitions.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.
