Hiring Procedural Registered Nurse- Endoscopy-Sarasota
About The Position
Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice. This is a full-time position requiring a 2-year contract for training as a procedural nurse, totaling up to $2,000 in training. The role involves a shift of four 10-hour days, with one late stay per week and on-call responsibilities including one call weekend approximately every 9 weeks. Saturday shifts are 10 hours with on-call duties for the remainder of the day. Sunday is an all-day call, with cases potentially starting in the department and requiring a return to the OR if called back. BLS certification is required prior to the start date, with ACLS and PALS required within 3 months of employment.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program.
- For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within six (6) months of hire/transfer date.
- Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
- BLS certified prior to start date.
- FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License.
- Willing to sign a 2 year contract for training.

Responsibilities

- Works a 10-hour shift on Saturdays, with on-call duties for the rest of the day.
- Is available for on-call duties on Sundays, which may involve returning to the OR.
- Undergoes training as a procedural nurse.
- Maintains BLS certification.
- Obtains ACLS and PALS certification within 3 months of employment.
- Utilizes basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
