Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice. This is a full-time position requiring a 2-year contract for training as a procedural nurse, totaling up to $2,000 in training. The role involves a shift of four 10-hour days, with one late stay per week and on-call responsibilities including one call weekend approximately every 9 weeks. Saturday shifts are 10 hours with on-call duties for the remainder of the day. Sunday is an all-day call, with cases potentially starting in the department and requiring a return to the OR if called back. BLS certification is required prior to the start date, with ACLS and PALS required within 3 months of employment.
