About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the GI Lab at Texas Health Plano is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through nursing education, research, and innovations in practice. This role involves responding to basic human needs, honoring human respect, engaging family/caregivers, understanding patients' frames of reference, mutual problem-solving, attentive reassurance, encouraging manner, and creating a healing environment. The GI Lab department is a fast-paced, high-volume unit that promotes internal growth and offers education opportunities, with a history of high retention and low turnover.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma in Nursing required or Associate’s degree in nursing required or Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
  • Other – CIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • 1 year of experience a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly upon hire required
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 6-months direct Endo/GI Lab experience as a RN strongly preferred
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required
  • PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days of hire required
