About The Position

As a Registered Nurse at Genesys Hospital, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care, ensuring that each patient receives individualized, high-quality treatment. Your expertise and compassion will directly impact patient outcomes and experiences, making a meaningful difference in their lives. The Emergency Unit at Genesys is a Trauma Level III, a 47-bed unit with an additional 10-bed overflow, and 2 dedicated trauma bays. This unit excels in stroke & cardiac care.

Requirements

Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained within 2 months of hire date.
Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 months of hire date.
Graduate of an approved professional (RN) nursing program.
Minimum of 1 year RN inpatient experience or New Grad with Paramedic/EMT/ED Tech experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience in acute care or a related clinical setting.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the development of a multidisciplinary plan of care to ensure appropriate length of stay, resource utilization, and quality outcomes.
Provide patient education and support, addressing fears and anxiety through effective communication and teaching.
Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and perform procedures such as dressing changes and blood glucose monitoring.
Monitor patient responses to interventions, recognizing and responding to acute changes in condition.
Collaborate with case managers to ensure seamless discharge planning and appropriate follow-up care.
