The Registered Nurse in Emergency Services is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to care for patients, maintaining accurate patient records, and developing discharge plans. This role involves assessing patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions, and communicating pertinent data to allied patient care providers. The nurse will also assume the role of charge nurse, demonstrate proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics, and act as a resource person for patient care, orientation, and staff teaching. Participation in unit staff meetings, mandatory programs, and Patient Care Assessment Committee (PCAC) activities is expected. The nurse will also participate in identifying aspects of care, monitoring quality, and evaluating care. Adherence to safety and blood/body fluid policies, assessment of learning needs, and documentation of professional development are crucial. The role requires staying updated on techniques and regulations appropriate to the patient's age, willingness to participate in Nursing Committees, and maintaining confidentiality. The nurse will represent the hospital positively in the community and within the hospital, providing service excellence to all individuals. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor are also part of the role.
