About The Position

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room (ER) for a 13-week travel assignment in Bay City, MI. The Emergency Department physicians, nurses, technicians, and support staff provide around-the-clock coverage and emergent treatment. Our dedicated team is prepared to care for both minor and severe injuries and illnesses as quickly as possible. The Registered Nurse coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. The Registered Nurse recognizes that each patient is a unique individual and has the right to quality nursing care that ensures mutual goal setting between the Registered Nurse and the patient, and that the Registered Nurse assures patient rights and privacy are protected. The Registered Nurse is held accountable to the ethical and professional standards as defined in the ANA Code for Nurses, the ANA Nursing’s Social Policy Statement, the State of Michigan Public Health code, and the ANA and Specialty Nursing Standards of Clinical Practice. The Registered Nurse is also accountable for adhering to the standards set by regulatory agencies such as but not limited to the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), Conditions of Participation of Healthcare Finance Administration (HCFA), and Michigan Occupational Health and Safety (MIOSHA). These accountabilities require individual competence in nursing practice, and the recognition and responsible acceptance of individual actions and judgments.

Requirements

  • 2 years of ED Experience
  • PALS certification; will accept ENPC in place
  • TNCC certification
  • ACLS Certification
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Effective team skills including interaction, support, and respect
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and reliability
  • Ability to learn and apply basic computer skills including locating and opening documents, completing forms, opening and sending e-mail messages
  • Drug screen and background check (facility required)

Responsibilities

  • Triage incoming patients based on level of injury or illness
  • Immediately stabilize incoming patients
  • Administer medication as instructed by physicians
  • Start intravenous lines, and set broken bones
  • Perform tracheotomies and intubations
  • Give patients stitches and sutures
  • Create and maintain incoming patient records
  • Work with a team of emergency staff to help patients
  • Help transfer stable patients to other wings
