If so, apply to join our talented employees. Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center has an opening for a Resource Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Room Department. The Resource Nurse will demonstrate performance that aligns with the mission, philosophy, and organizational goals. The individual must remain adaptable to evolving systems and is expected to exhibit high standards of quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice. They will treat staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect while assisting various departments in meeting their unit needs to ensure the delivery of exemplary patient care. The primary focus of the Resource Nurse during each shift will be to support bedside nurses by addressing resource insufficiencies across different hospital departments, as assigned by the Charge Nurse. The individual will ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and quality care in accordance with Southern Coos Health District standards by facilitating direct patient care requirements within any hospital department. This position may also serve as a direct care registered nurse within the Emergency Department and/or Medical-Surgical Department when staffing vacancies cannot be filled by qualified personnel. The Resource Nurse is responsible for responding to codes and emergency situations within the hospital. Additionally, the individual will oversee staff adherence to meal and rest break protocols, including monitoring and ensuring compliance with hospital, state, and federal regulations. Further responsibilities include assisting with nursing education validation as needed and serving as the designated back-up Charge Nurse. The Resource Nurse reports to the Charge Nurse and is supervised by the Emergency Department Nurse Manager, who in turn reports to the Chief Nursing Officer.

Requirements

  • Graduated from a certified Nursing School or program.
  • Current RN license in Oregon, required.
  • Having and maintaining Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) / Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) / Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification is required.
  • Having and maintaining Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certification is required.
  • Minimum of one-year Med/Surg and Emergency nursing experience is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a drive to provide exceptional service.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, and computer proficiency, specifically in Microsoft Office and online software.

Nice To Haves

  • EPIC experience is a plus.

Responsibilities
