About The Position

Watertown Regional Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Emergency Department team. This role involves providing direct and indirect patient care in a high-acuity emergency setting, utilizing the nursing process to ensure safe and effective care for patients of all ages. The RN will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to achieve quality outcomes through clinical excellence, compassionate service, and adherence to regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Nursing required
  • Current state RN license or compact state equivalent required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within time frame stated in facility policy
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within time frame stated in facility policy
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within time frame stated in facility policy
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required within time frame stated in facility policy
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification required within time frame stated in facility policy
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform extended standing, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Demonstrates professionalism, clinical judgment, and a commitment to continuous learning

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Graduation from an accredited Nursing Diploma program accepted
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred or required within time frame stated in facility policy
  • Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) preferred
  • Emergency nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to function under pressure and respond effectively to critical situations

Responsibilities

  • Performs triage and prioritizes patient care based on acuity
  • Conducts age-appropriate assessments and reassessments of all patients
  • Administers medications, performs procedures, and manages critical drips
  • Assists physicians with exams and procedures in the emergency department
  • Monitors hemodynamic status and interprets cardiac rhythms
  • Documents care, treatment, assessments, and education accurately and timely
  • Applies infection control and sterile technique practices consistently
  • Educates patients and families about care plans and discharge instructions
  • Collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary team for optimal care delivery
  • Responds calmly and professionally in high-stress, life-threatening situations
