About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Augusta Health Emergency Department team. This role is crucial in providing quality care to patients in the Shenandoah Valley, serving approximately 60,000 patients annually. Our department is a Primary Stroke Center and an ACC Chest Pain Center, equipped with cutting-edge technology and recently renovated spaces to enhance workflows and foster strong teamwork. This night shift position offers an opportunity for potential and growth within a supportive environment.

Requirements

• Nursing Diploma and/or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Educational requirements per hospital certifications (Example: Stroke, Orthopedic/Spine)
• Must be an RN licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Current and valid Registered nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or from a state that is part of a Compact agreement with Virginia
• CPR
• ACLS prior to coming off orientation
• PALS within 3 months of orientation end

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the coordination of direct patient care.
• Responsible for patient education.
• Serves as a leader of the patient care team.
• Works closely with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Annual education and competencies as required per hospital certifications.
• HIPPA – no breaches of confidentiality.
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment - when appropriate.
• Use of Safe Patient Handling devices - to minimize risk of injury.
• Maintains calm and safe approach within the work environment towards those that display violent or aggressive behavior.
• Able to communicate with patients and other staff - verbal, auditory, and in written form using Augusta Health documentation.
