About The Position

The Emergency Department (ED) at Texas Health Allen is seeking a passionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team on a PRN/Nights basis. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse population, encourages staff engagement, and provides educational and career growth, including specialty certification and NCAP opportunities. The position also offers work schedule flexibility with alternating weekends. Texas Health Allen, an 88-bed acute-care hospital serving Collin County since 2000, specializes in various services including robotic surgery, cardiology, orthopedic and spine services, and women's and infants' care. It is an Accredited Chest Pain Center and STEMI receiving facility, with multiple accreditations and certifications.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma in nursing required or Associate’s degree in nursing required or Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
  • 1 year of experience as a registered nurse required
  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly upon hire required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually within 90 days required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days
  • PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience as an RN in an ED acute care setting strongly preferred
  • TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course upon hire preferred
