About The Position

Sentara Health is searching for an Experienced RN to join the team at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in the Emergency Department. This is a 41-bed Level III Trauma ED with 6 beds dedicated to a lock down psychiatric screening and treatment area. We are a stroke certified ED and receive STEMI and psychiatric patients. The ED treats about 150 patients per day with a dedicated radiology suite in the ED for plain film and CT imaging. We have a diverse nursing and ED Tech team.

Requirements

• ADN required
• Virginia or compact multistate RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing.
• RN Experienced in a hospital setting.
• RN Experience in the ED highly preferred.

Nice To Haves

• BSN or higher preferred
• BLS
• TNCC preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
• Assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation.
• Ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.
• Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
