About The Position

The Emergency Department Clinical Nurse is a licensed Registered Nurse who delivers comprehensive, evidence-based care to a diverse population of patients presenting with undifferentiated, acute, and complex health conditions. Practicing in a high-acuity, fast-paced academic medical center, the Clinical Nurse utilizes advanced clinical judgment, critical thinking, and prioritization to rapidly assess, stabilize, and manage patients across the lifespan. The Clinical Nurse collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to ensure timely interventions, adherence to regulatory and quality standards, and optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities include continuous patient assessment, implementation of emergent and therapeutic interventions, patient and family education, and active participation in performance improvement and departmental initiatives. Emphasis is placed on clinical competency, accountability, and the delivery of safe, patient-centered care in alignment with organizational standards.

Requirements

  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Current California Registered Nurse license.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) Certification within 90 days of hire
  • All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • One year recent experience as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization
