Registered Nurse-Emergency Department - Night
About The Position
Endeavor Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department, specifically for night shifts. This part-time position requires 24 hours per week, with hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including every third weekend and rotating holidays. A sign-on bonus is available for eligible positions, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and a 2-year commitment. The role involves providing professional nursing care in accordance with the Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. This includes utilizing critical thinking skills, assessing patients, planning and evaluating care, monitoring progress, and delegating tasks. The nurse will function as a team member to achieve unit goals.
Requirements
- Associates Degree or higher in Nursing; If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date.
- Requires 1+ years' experience in the emergency department unit
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
- Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within three months of start date into position
- Pediatric Life Support (PALS) within three months of start date into position
- Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) within three months of start date into position
- Minimum of 2 years of ED experience (for sign-on bonus eligibility)
Responsibilities
- Provides professional nursing care in accordance with the Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act, and hospital policies and procedures.
- Employs critical thinking skills, assesses patients’ condition, recognizes changes, plans and evaluates care, monitors patients’ progress, and records pertinent observations.
- Delegates appropriate patient care tasks to other staff.
- Functions as a team member to fulfill unit goals.
