About The Position

This is a Full Time Registered Nurse position in the Emergency Department (ED) at Texas Health Dallas. The role involves providing direct patient care, responding to patient needs, and engaging with families and caregivers. The department is fast-paced, averaging 200 patients per day, and offers self-scheduling for work-life balance, opportunities for educational and career growth, and a robust Unit Based Council.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma in Nursing required or Associate’s degree in nursing required or Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
  • 1 year of experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required.
  • 1 year of emergency department acute care experience strongly preferred
  • RN – Registered upon hire required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required
  • PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days of hire required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention training annually within 90 days required
  • TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course within 6 months required or ATCN – Advanced Trauma Care Nurse within 6 months required
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
  • 1 year of emergency department acute care experience strongly preferred
