About The Position

The WI Float Pool is a multi-site resource team supporting Emergency Department (ED) care across the Wisconsin division. Float RNs provide adaptable, high-quality nursing care across multiple hospitals and units based on organizational need. Teammates must be flexible, skilled, and ready to deliver exceptional care in a wide variety of settings. This role offers travel-nursing-style variety without the travel, working across multiple Aurora Health facilities through day-to-day floating or 6-week site rotations. It provides a fresh, dynamic work environment with exposure to various departments and patient populations, helping to prevent routine fatigue and keep work exciting. It also offers career-building experience by demonstrating adaptability, competence, and the ability to manage diverse clinical situations. The position is part-time (0.6 FTE) with a PM shift (1100-2300, 12-hour shifts) and supports Zone 2 sites: St. Luke's, South Shore, Washington County, Grafton, and West Allis Sinai.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications.
  • Minimum 1 year of ED RN experience required.
  • 4 Weekend Shifts per 6-week schedule.
  • 2 Holidays per year.

Nice To Haves

  • Strongly Prefer 2 years ED RN Experience

Responsibilities

  • Providing safe, therapeutic, evidence-based nursing care in alignment with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrating adaptability by floating to multiple care environments within a designated Zone, integrating quickly into new departments, and collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Leading efforts that support the safest patient environment and best possible patient experience.
  • Coordinating care for diverse patient populations within various acute-care, hospital outpatient departments, and clinic settings.
  • Maintaining the competency required to practice in all acute-care facilities within the designated zone.
