About The Position
This is a Registered Nurse position in an Off Campus Emergency Department located in Union Gap, WA. The department operates 24/7 and has a patient capacity of 8-10 beds. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of ER experience and involves caring for neonates, geriatrics, 25% pediatrics, and walk-in traumas. Patients present with acute care needs across various medical specialties, including Cardiac, Neuro, Gastrointestinal (GI), Respiratory, and Psychiatric. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4, with a 1:6 ratio for the Fast Track. Support staff includes a charge nurse, ED MD, ER Tech, front desk, and EST/Phlebotomy team. RNs are responsible for the majority of blood draws and manage ventilators and BiPAP as there are no respiratory therapists on-site. Training for BiPAP management will be provided during onboarding.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of ER experience (any trauma level).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
- Advanced NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification.
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
- Proficient in medication administration.
- Strong IV insertion skills.
- Traveler telemetry competency required to be completed and passed prior to start.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with chest tubes and central lines.
Responsibilities
