About The Position

The Emergency Department RN provides high-quality, patient-centered care during night shift in a rural ED. This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and a team-first mindset to respond to a wide variety of patient needs. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in continuing the healing mission of Deaconess. An ER Nurse provides critical care to patients in emergency situations. They assess and prioritize patient needs, administer treatments, perform life-saving procedures, and coordinate with other medical professionals. They also document patient information, manage crises, and provide emotional support to patients and families. Quick decision-making and the ability to handle high-pressure situations are essential.

Requirements

  • License to practice in the State of Illinois
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) or Red Cross BLS certification
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Red Cross PALS
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Red Cross ALS required upon hire.
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health care team
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Requires physical stamina and emotional stability.

Nice To Haves

  • Emergency Communication Registered Nurse (ECRN) preferred.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.
  • Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) or Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) preferred
  • START/JumpStart (must obtain within 6 months of hire/transfer)
  • At least one-year previous experience in clinical unit preferred.
