Registered Nurse - Emergency Department - Evening
About The Position
Endeavor Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department at Edward Hospital. This is a full-time position working 36 hours per week, with evening shifts from 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM, including every third weekend and rotating holidays. The role involves providing professional nursing care in accordance with the Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. Key responsibilities include utilizing critical thinking skills to assess patients, recognize changes in condition, plan and evaluate care, monitor patient progress, and record observations. The nurse will also delegate appropriate patient care tasks and function as a team member to achieve unit goals.
Requirements
- Associates Degree or higher in Nursing; If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date.
- 1+ years' experience in the emergency department unit
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
- Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within three months of start date into position
- Pediatric Life Support (PALS) within three months of start date into position
- Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) within three months of start date into position
Responsibilities
- Provides professional nursing care in accordance with the Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act, and hospital policies and procedures.
- Employs critical thinking skills, assesses patients’ condition, recognizes changes, plans and evaluates care, monitors patients’ progress, and records pertinent observations.
- Delegates appropriate patient care tasks to other staff.
- Functions as a team member to fulfill unit goals.
