About The Position

Sentara RMH Medical Center is currently seeking a customer service-focused Registered Nurse to join our emergency department team. This is an ideal position for RN candidates who enjoy a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Sign-on bonus up to $20,000 for qualifying candidates. No contract required!

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or Bachelor's degree – Nursing (Required)
  • Active Registered Nurse license (Required)
  • Previous acute care experience (Required)
  • At least 1 year of Emergency Room experience (preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of Emergency Room experience

Responsibilities

  • Performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
  • Assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation.
  • Ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
  • Possessing clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
  • The 10-week TTP program focuses on the orientation transition experience with intentional knowledge support and skill acquisition for practice in Medical-Surgical areas.
  • Formal delivery of fundamental nursing concepts and standards via foundational ENO (Elsevier’s Emergency Nursing Orientation) modules blended with in-person sessions utilizing case studies, gaming, simulation, and skills labs.
  • Exposure to Sentara policies and evidence-based practice guidelines as recommended by the Emergency Nursing Association (ENA).
  • Hands-on experience in the ED alongside a trained nurse preceptor.
  • Opportunity to share experiences/networking with peers in a safe, protected environment.
  • A series of virtual professional development sessions with mentoring (optional for experienced nurses).
