About The Position

The WI Float Pool is a multi-site resource team supporting Emergency Department (ED) care across the Wisconsin division. Float RNs provide adaptable, high-quality nursing care across multiple hospitals and units based on organizational need. Teammates must be flexible, skilled, and ready to deliver exceptional care in a wide variety of settings. This role offers travel-nursing-style variety without the travel, working across multiple Aurora Health facilities through day-to-day floating or 6-week site rotations. The dynamic work environment exposes RNs to various departments and patient populations, preventing routine fatigue and keeping work exciting. This role provides career-building experience, demonstrating adaptability, competence, and the ability to manage diverse clinical situations. Competitive compensation includes base pay, float differentials, shift and weekend premiums. Benefits and flexibility include flexible self-scheduling, no on-call requirements, and only two holidays per year.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Additional Certification needed: ACLS, PALS, TNCC
  • Minimum 1 year of ED RN experience required
  • Weekend Requirement (Friday 1900 – Monday 0700): 4 Weekend Shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Holiday Requirement: 2 Holidays per year

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years ED RN Experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Providing safe, therapeutic, evidence-based nursing care in alignment with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrating adaptability by floating to multiple care environments within a designated Zone, integrating quickly into new departments, and collaborating with diverse teams
  • Leading efforts that support the safest patient environment and best possible patient experience
  • Coordinating care for diverse patient populations within various acute-care, hospital outpatient departments and clinic settings
  • Maintaining the competency required to practice in all acute-care facilities within the designated zone
