About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse Educator specializing in Clinical Diabetes at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, IN. The position is full-time, dayshift. The nurse educator will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities for an assigned service or population, collaborating with nurse managers and staff to identify learning needs and develop educational programs. They will also serve as a resource for staff development and participate in orientation and preceptor programs.

Requirements

Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Certified Educator specializing in Diabetes Management preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational activities planning for an assigned service or population.
Collaborate with nurse managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
Develop, implement and evaluate educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
Serve as a resource for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
Participate in the coordination and continuity of orientation programs, including preceptor programs.
