About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ED) at Via Christi, St. Francis in Wichita, KS. The position is full-time with a day shift schedule. Associates are eligible for tuition discounts and priority placement in select healthcare programs through an academic partnership with Wichita State University.

Requirements

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage care plans for a diverse patient load, closely monitoring and recording vital changes and communicating updates to the medical team in real-time.
• Work at the heart of the unit, executing physician and nursing orders with precision to ensure every patient receives timely treatment.
• Act as the primary clinical point of contact for your patients, ensuring all tests, treatments, and reassessments are completed efficiently to keep their care plan on track.
• Coordinate with the team to ensure discharge needs are met and the patient is ready for their next level of care.
